The Missing Files ( Blog 5: Open Your Eyes)

Open Your Eyes was highly interesting to me. I had actually seen Vanilla Sky first, and I like how it was so similar. Some remakes don't do it like this. This made me think that I would understand it more but somehow I still found myself at times getting confused. But what I do know is that it's connection to the Matrix was pretty strong. In my opinion he goes in and out of reality. It's weird because the audience doesn't knows when he stars dreaming or when he's not. It's scary when you see Cesar not knowing what was reality and what was a complete fake. There are people that live in this world know and don't know reality from a fake world.

Research...???????????......

I'm running out of time. I don't know what to do for this project. My topic was going to be about African-American women and how they are portrayed in films. Maybe I should stick with that. I haven't really started on researching it, but I think I know where I want to go with it. I do know that I have to make a decision and quick!

Simone, Simone, Simone

I honestly feel that Simone was a form of the "American Dream" for a large number of people. In a weird way, people want to have that life that Simone portrayed to have. She had no flaws in the peoples eyes. There was a secene in the movie when Viktor was trying to destroy her and she was having interviews where she would say and present herself in the most disgusting way, everyone still loved her. I also think that Simone was representing Hollywood. It's looks like a perfect world to be in. Anything you want can happen, but it's a complete fake. Hollywood always seemed to be another world that most people want to escape to. A place where you can believe anything do anything. In a way, I feel that all of us as people either the life of Simone or think of having that type of life.

103 Final Project ( My Idea)

I have been going through many topics in regards to the final 103 project. The one that stood out to me the most is African - American women in the media. For a long time, I always had it in the back of my mind that African - American women were treated very differently than others in the entertainment business. Being that it's so broad, i have to figure out if i want to pin-point this problem when it comes to radio, big screen or on the small screen. Whatever area I decide to go into, i know that it will be a lot to research. This is a huge problem so I look forward to doing this project because not only can I say things that I know about it already, I can also learn a whole lot more.

Star Trek/ Farscape

The craziest thing that I adapted from the two episodes that we seen in Jason's class and it's connection to the Matrix is they are all sci-fi. In Star Trek, Farscape, and the Matrix, they were similar to me. Humans are being somewhat taken over. In Star Trek, the aliens actually deceived the human astronaut by luring thim into the alien planet. In the episode of Farscape, John's "friends" used the thoughts from his mind to create a fake planet Earth and that they were being killed off one at a time. The connection that i believe that they have besides it being sci-fi is one particular symbol. In the Matix, Frascape and Star Trek, a door opened up to a whole other world, or problem. In the Marix, when Neo was running to leave out of the Matrix, He opened the door to an agent that shot him to death. In Farscape, John opened a door and confirmed that he was noon planet Earth but another dimension. In Star Trek, Data, Riker and Wolf entered this alien like planet with revolving doors. When they enetered, they were stuck inside and had to figure a way to get out. Also, in Star Trek when they landed, above their head was some greenish mist. In Farscape, when Jonn opened the door, he discovered a pinkish goop of some sort. I realized that humans make mistakes quite often. I look at the doors in all three a symbol of humans making some kind of mistake. I truly understand the saying "curiosity kills the cat".

The Matrix

I believe that the Matrix was about people believing in another world. Believing that they can escape to this other dimension. I don't think that all of us live in the Matrix. Maybe some people believe that there is another world out there that they can exsist in.
